We had some very good action yesterday thanks to the horses, the front end loader and the operator! I would estimate that the Base Foundation for the croquet lawns is about 75% to 80% completed. Gauteng Provincial Championships

The tournament was held from 18th-21st March at Country Club, Johannesburg.

The four courts were in superb condition and the weather remained fine and warm throughout. It was pleasing that of the 29 entrants, several were first timers and in fact one couple had only been playing for a few months.

An excellent dinner was arranged at the Cricket Pavilion on the Saturday evening and Prize-giving drinks and snacks were held on the Tuesday after the finals ...

Reg Bamford wins his 2nd World Champs

Reg Bamford (ZAF) defeated Ahmed Nasr, Egypt's strongest player and a former GC World Champion in 2004 and 2008, in the 2017 Golf Croquet World Championship final at the Victorian Croquet Centre, Melbourne on 5 March.
Bamford won 7-6, 5-7, 7-4, 3-7, 7-4 in a gripping final to regain the title he won in Cairo in 2013, also against Nasr who had beaten him in the 2008 final in Cape Town.

First winners determined at the WCCA GC Tournament

On Wednesday afternoon (1 March), Caroline Burr (4, Kelvin Grove) and Lionel Tibble (0, England) beat Nick Westmore (4, Fish Hoek) and Brian Yarwood (5, Fish Hoek) in the final of the Handicap Doubles final.
