Winners of the Woodside Doubles Competition Margie Sparks and Herman de Groot with organiser Mariel de Bie

When Woodside Village opened almost twenty-two years ago, a small piece of ground outside the clubhouse was set aside for a half sized croquet court.
There was an enthusiastic nucleus of players who enjoyed hitting a ball around. No double taps or crush shots then.

Today we have about thirty good players who cannot wait to get onto the court and nine more waiting for coaching.
We run internal singles and doubles competitions and enjoy playing friendly matches against other teams from retirement villages with half sized courts.
